Acestea sunt lucrarile terminate recent de pictorul Eugen Bratfanof care ii dau zvac in proaspatul inceput 2013 si care vor face probabil priza in vederea unei proxime expozitii. Imi vine in minte un pasaj din cea mai recenta carte a lui Tudor Octavian, Jurnal de subiecte, in care autorul face o necesara amendare a zicalei “arta e 1% inspiratie si 99 % transpiratie”. T.O. spune de fapt ca formula corecta este “1% inspiratie si 99 la suta meserie.” Ori, privind lucrarile lui E. Bratfanof, nu poti sa nu remarci consecventa sa in reteta stilistica de deformare a fizionomiilor personajelor plasate in cadre suprarealiste. Si mai important cred, este valoarea apropiata intre diversele tablouri. A fi egal cu tine insuti, a miza pe progrese treptate si bine consolidate este de fapt reteta unui progres autentic. Si din acet punct de vedere, E. Bratfanof nu dezamageste niciodata. In plus, stilul sau este atat de recognoscibil incat semnatura dintr-un colt al panzei este numai o certificare documentara.

These are the most recently completed work by the painter Eugene Bratfanof that gives him a jump start at the beginning of 2013 and they will likely be shown in an exhibition this year.  I remember a passage from the latest book of Tudor Octavian, “Journal of subjects”, where the author makes a necessary amendment of the saying “the art is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration”. T.O. actually says that the correct formula is “1 percent inspiration and 99 percent long practiced skill”. Looking at the work of E. Bratfanof, you can’t fail to notice its consistency and faithfulness to the recipe of faces and figure alteration of the characters he places in well-designed surreal compositions. I think that more important is the close value between different paintings. To be your own equal, to be based on gradual and sound progress, it is, in fact, the recipe of an authentic progress. And from this point of view, E. Bratfanof never disappoints. In addition, his style is so distinguishable that the signature from a corner of the canvas is merely a documentary certification.
