Milionarii chinezi au devenit în ultimii ani serioși jucatori pe piața de artă. Banii lor sug către Orient capodopere ale lumii vestice dar presiunea este și inversă. Arta contemporană chineză se insinuează mai mult sau mai puțin subtil catre soare-apune. O platformă de întânire și de melanj al celor doua uriașe culturi este Zona 798 din Beijing pe care am avut norocul s-o vizitez și s-o aduc prin numeroase fotografii și cititorilor Artindex. În baza unui parteneriat cu una dintre galeriile din acel fascinant complex, îmi permit să vă arat parțial simezele curente ale Chinei. (Mihai Constantin)

《1+1=无限》朴吉友、赵利民双个展
前言
本次展览将同期呈现朴吉友、赵利民俩位艺术家近年来优秀的雕塑和绘画作品，他们持有不同的艺术形式，拥有各自独特的人生视角，面对“无限”这一话题，他们既靠近又疏离。展览题为“1+1=无限”，即意在将俩位艺术家的作品并置于同一个层面，让作品跟随艺术家产生更深入的交流，最大限度拓展其艺术创作的视界。
隙里白驹——朴吉友
《隙里白驹》是雕塑家朴吉友此次个展的主题，“人生天地之间，若白驹过隙，忽然而已。”朴吉友的雕塑作品具有短暂又唯美的特质，这种特质中包含了诸多复杂的矛盾，自由与桎梏的矛盾、说与不说的矛盾、动与静的矛盾、作者与观者的矛盾等等，归根结底，它们实际上都是同一种矛盾的衍生，即有限和无限的矛盾。人生无所不有限，生命有限、爱情有限、资源有限……而艺术家却总是在追求无限，游移于有限事物的边界，永远在和既成的规则博弈，窥探世界的本质。庄子有言：“吾生也有涯，而知也无涯，以有涯随无涯，殆矣。已而为知者，形而已矣。”他在告诉我们用有限的生命去追求无限的事情是危险的，而雕塑家朴吉友要说的却是：他就是在无可救药地做着这样一件危险的事。
皇上驾到——赵利民
与气质敏感忧郁又极度理想化的朴吉友的作品大相径庭，艺术家赵利民的作品总在以最美好的方式捕捉制度生活的乐趣，既荒诞又真实，充满了隐喻。我们在赵利民此次个展《皇上驾到》的作品中看到的是一个超现实的世界，一系列虚幻的古代场景，一个个天真无邪的儿童，和一场场模仿成人世界的角色扮演的游戏，在他的笔下儿童几乎没有不可逾越的边界，但古代社会的场景却是一个别具讽刺意味的界限，艺术家借此刻意制造了时间、空间与心理上的局限，将作品的内容引向历史，引向过去，引向了所有人的童年。
现代心理学普遍认为，人在童年时期就已形成了其一生的主导性格，而后天则是对主导性格的完善，一个人穷尽一生的努力就是在整合他自童年时代起就已形成的性格。其实艺术创作同样如此，童年经验往往会为艺术家的作品奠定一层特殊的基调，后期的雕琢、描摹和润色虽然会使艺术家的作品更加丰富多元，但是艺术作品的主导性格，实际在艺术家的童年时期就已形成。
本次展览选在六一儿童节这一天开幕，也是希望通过俩位性格迥异的艺术家的作品，引发更多的人对于自身童年的回想，镜照出每个人最真实的性格。1+1到达无限，这是一个复杂的命题，也是一个美好的发愿。
